Coffee Moment

Last week, we were watching a show called "The Middle" on ABC (8:30 on Wednesday's) and I found myself laughing outloud. HARD.

This show was killing me.

Mostly because of this little clip right here:

Mom's aren't allowed to turn off their cell phones and take a few minutes to themselves!
Duh.

Seriously, check out this show. You will laugh-I think whether you are a mom or not.

Universal truth is universal comedy. If you can't laugh, you'll cry.

Also, you might end up having a fight at the end of the night if your husband doesn't watch with you and you try to rehash why this one scene made you laugh so hard...might as well make him watch too. (The dad/husband is really great in the show)

We went to visit our sweet brand new baby niece Emmaline Bell Sloan in Columbia this weekend. She was born on Wednesday and we held ourselves back as long as we could!

Before we left, we had to replace our car DVD player because it went on the fritz and unfortunately, the extended warranty expired on 12/30/08. Seriously. I have learned my lesson and I will never buy an extended warranty on anything but a computer again.

Anyway, we bought a new DVD player for the car and we were on our way. We put in Toy Story 2 and Matt and I spent the next hour or so just catching up with each other. It was around Spartanburg that I remarked to him that I didn't remember Buzz Lightyear spoke in Spanish in Toy Story 2. I watched for a second, then the Potato Head was talking in Spanish.

Oops. The default language on the DVD player had been set to Spanish and my kids had been watching Toy Story 2 entirely in Spanish for over an hour.

This was amazing for two reasons.

1) We hadn't heard a peep out of them. So they didn't really notice.
2) We hadn't heard a peep out of them, so WE DIDN'T NOTICE.

That is some good television parenting right there people.

Many of you know that I am a pretty serious television watcher. I decided to share with you today what I will be watching this week and how excited I am about each show.

Sunday Night:
1. The Amazing Race: It is two hours tonight! I better see Mirna and Schmirna hit the road tonight.

2. Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel. Is anyone else out there watching this? It is one of my new favorite shows. So many of the amazing scenes have never been captured on film before. The Snow Leopard killing a mountain goat and dragging it back up the mountain was amazing. Also, is it just me or are panda bears look like they are cartoons and not real?

Monday Night:
3. The Hills. I am a sucker for MTV reality television.

Also, the national championship for Basketball. I am not so much excited, but I know that I will be forced to watch it. Which is okay, because I have an extensive television viewing list. So this is my penence.

Tuesday Night:
4. American Idol. It is unbelieveable that freakin' Sanjaya is still on this show. I found my renewed love in Gwen Stefani last week and can't wait for Tuesday.

Wednesday Night:
5. Friday Night Lights. Yes this is fiction, but since I love me some high school students...I love this show.

6. Top Design. Todd Oldham sucks as the host...but I love seeing new design ideas.

7. American Idol results show. Why watch Tuesday if you won't watch Wednesday?

Thursday:
Where to begin? New Grey's, new the Office, new 30 Rock...My TiVo is going to get burned out from all of the joy.

I will be at the beach starting on Thursday, so I doubt that I will be watching much tv beyond Thursday night. But what joy is going to come this week from all of the new shows! I love it!!!
