A Mullet Explained

My aunt Mary asked what exactly was a mullet. I thought that I would give a little tutorial in case anyone else out there had the same question but didn't want to ask. A mullet is a haircut that was popular in the early 90's whose popularity peaked with Billy Ray Cyrus. It is what many refer to as "business in the front and party in the back" which means short hair in the front of the head while the back is allowed to grow as long as the wearer likes.
It is an amazing thing when one is given the priviledge of seeing the "mullet" in person as it is becoming more and more rare. But, in certain locations in the South and among the Italian and Latino populations, it remains a staple. One of the most important features of the mullet is actually the accessory the has to accompany it which is usually a gold chain and a mock turtleneck with tight acid washed jeans and a really REALLY bad sparse mustache (this applies to men or women).
Although, the wearers of the mullet very rarely make public appearances in places that those who would love to see the mullet frequent. You have to seek them out and it turns out that I hit the jackpot at the Weaverville Fantastic Sams! I feel very fortunate.

Thanks for asking

I like to also call it a "Yup-Nope" or "Hockey hair". Truly a glorious display of salon goodness.
